Men’s Basketball: The men’s basketball team is currently 7-17 overall and 2-8 in NBL- Oak play. They are eliminated from NCS playoff contention. The Pumas have faced many difficult opponents and have had to go through missing key players due to COVID-19 or injuries. Seniors Luc Guggiana and Desmond McCloskey have been leading the team in scoring and Pumas were still able to upset Santa Rosa High School in a 66-47 blowout.
Women’s Basketball: The women’s basketball team is 17-4 overall and 8-0 in the NBL- Redwood league. This puts them in first place in their league and fifth in the NCS Division III. The Lady Pumas have a great chance of making the NCS playoffs and are playing phenomenally. Sisters Katrina and Leyna Gorauskas have been leading the team this year on their way to the top.
Men’s Soccer: The Men’s soccer team is 10-3-2 overall and 6-2-1 in the NBL-Oak league putting them in second place behind Montgomery High School. The Pumas are also sixth in NCS Division II, securing their spot in the NCS playoffs. They have been led by seniors Evan Lepe, Adrian Valencia, and goalkeeper Danny Garcia on their way to the playoffs.
Women’s Soccer: The women’s soccer team is 8-4-6 overall and 5-2-1 in the NBL- Oak league. They currently sit in third place in the NBL- Oak league behind Cardinal Newman High School and fifth place in NCS Division II and have a good chance of making the NCS playoffs. They have been led by seniors Cassady Carpenter and Maddie Gmitter, the latter of which is committed to UC Davis. Seniors are leaving the team in good hands as juniors Maddie Graham and Sydney Ngo will take over the team next year.
Wrestling: The MCHS wrestling team is 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the NBL- Oak League. They are in second in the NBL, sitting behind Ukiah High School. They are also ninth in NCS Division II and with only a few more meets left until the NBL championships.
