The Maria Carrillo Junior varsity men’s basketball team played against the Santa Rosa Junior varsity basketball team on February 2. The Pumas played extremely well, never giving up even when they were on the lesser end of the score. They fought to win with pride, and that was achieved when they eventually won against the Panthers.

The game was intense, both supporters of the opposite teams cheering for their players, offering support and encouragement to their respective teams. Students and parents alike really showed up for the Pumas, performing loud arrays of encouragement which definitely helped our team win. The Pumas stayed focused and level-headed the entire game, scoring against the Panthers in many impressive instances. Even when the Panthers scored, the Pumas made comebacks every time until the score eventually turned in our favor.

All in all, the Pumas played extremely well and secured yet another win for the men’s basketball team, setting the standard for the games to come.
