A much anticipated update has come to the beloved pixelated sandbox game, Minecraft, supplying players with the Copper Golem, a mob that many players have been asking for ever since it was introduced into the 2022 mob vote and lost to the fairylike Allay.   The copper golem can sort your items if you place them into a copper chest. The golem will take the items out of the copper chest and place them into a regular wooden chest, a trapped chest, or another copper chest.

The copper golem first came about in the 2022 mob vote, where players could vote on what creature, called a mob, should be added in the next game drop. The contestants of the vote were the Copper Golem, bushlike Glare, and fairylike Allay.  The Allay ended up being the winner, leaving Golem fans disappointed.   Since then, some fans have wanted the Copper Golem to be added to Minecraft, finally having their wish fulfilled with the Autumn game drop released this October.

Copper in general did not have much use in the game before the Copper Age.  It was mostly used for decorative blocks, no weapons or armor had copper variants.  This is not a problem for players in Creative mode, where you have infinite blocks, access to every item in the game, and cannot die, as they can use the copper to create architectural wonders.  But for Survival mode players who have to mine for resources and find copper ore all too occasionally, the ore is a nuisance that gets in the way when searching for better ore such as iron and diamond.  But now the once-annoying ore is finally convenient, because it can be used to craft various pieces of armor and weapons so you can defend yourself against hostile mobs.

I am pretty much satisfied with this update as I had been wishing for the copper golem to be in the game since I heard that it existed, and now I can create really cool torch art with the different colors of torches.   I love comparing the different variants of copper decorations and am excited to get copper armor because copper is really abundant in the game.

In Winter, Minecraft will release its next update, Mounts of Madness.  This game drop will include new mobs such as the Nautilus and Zombie Horse, spears, Nautilus armor, and much more to come.   A specific date for the Winter game drop has not been announced, but Mounts of Madness will be released sometime this December.
