The leaves are starting to lose their green, and the days are getting shorter. You know what that means — it's officially the beginning of fall. It also means that the time has come for Maria Carrillo’s annual fall theater production. The production alternates each year between a haunted house and a Shakespeare in the Park, and this year will be the latter.
It’s going to be a production of William Shakespeare’s shortest comedic play, The Comedy of Errors, but with a twist, it’s going to be set in the 70s. This means you should expect a bombardment of bright colors, peace signs, and classic 70s music.
It will be shown from September 30 to October 2, unless one of the performances must be canceled for rain or bad weather, in which case it will be moved to October 5 instead.
Being a Shakespeare in the Park, it will of course take place outside. The stage will be the steps that lead up to the theater building, and the audience will be seated in the quad.

Junior Hayden Walters who plays Antipholus of Syracuse, and senior Jeffery Levesque who plays Antipholus of Ephesus, have the leading roles. They play a set of twins separated at birth, whose quest to reunite with one another leads to a whirlwind of confusion, mistaken identities, and of course, lots of comedy.
The show is sure to be a lot of fun. When asked to describe it, sophomore Lilian Scanlon who plays Angelo said, "It's very lively and colorful, chaotic in the best of ways.”
Even if Shakespeare isn’t your thing, it’s worth it to come out and support the theater program and all of the talented people within it. And who knows, you might just have a good time. The only way to find out is to watch it for yourself.
